I gun it off the stop light. And there I am, the first guy off the light, everyone else behind me, slowly catching up with my fast pace. I see the guy in a very loud low rider. Let him pass me. I am not in a mood to start a pissing contest. I’ll beat him in a couple of minutes anyway. I overtake one car, weave around a couple of other slow drivers. Seeing an opening makes me shift down and jump in while the window of opportunity is still there. Wow, isn’t it fun to drive like that? Wait a second. I meant to say ride, right? No, stupid, drive. You are in your car, not on a motorcycle. That is when reality hits me. A total case of mistaken identity. For the last 15 minutes I was driving my car like I would ride my motorcycle. My alter ego took over and sent signals to my brain to drive as if I am on a bike. Luckily I drive a fine piece of German automobile engineering industry. It handles really well and can really go when needed be. Even so that is not the way you behave on busy city streets. I am not a teenager that just got his first car and wants to see what he can do with it. Where did my motorcycle mode button go? I need to disable this mode ASAP!

I rode my motorcycle in the morning. And later in the day I got back home, took a quick shower and jumped into my car to get together with a friend of mine. The only problem was - apparently my brain did not realize the change up in the means of transportation. While on a bike I was splitting lanes, weaving through traffic and overtaking the slowly creeping cars and trucks with ease. So apparently there has been a bleed over from that riding mode into the next one in the queue. May be there has to be a cool off time period. Once you get off your motorcycle you are not allowed to drive a car for at least 2 hours? That very well may be my case. My fellow drivers, I do apologize for my lewd behavior. From now on I know where my motorcycle riding mode button is located. And I sure won’t forget to disable this mode once I off my bike.
