American Express Business Card review
written by motodisiac
I’m always extremely careful with opening and using credits. However when I started my business there was a need for a credit card with hefty spending limit. After seeing numerous commercials praising American Express Business I have decided to open one and use it for my business needs.

It’s very convenient to pay with the credit card, most vendors will accept it and there is no messing around with sending checks. Advertised 1% cashback is great too, it’s nice to receive additional discount on anything you buy.
I just received a call from one of my vendors telling me that my credit card has been declined. Impossible I thought, I have American Express with $50 000 limit and I’m nowhere near that. A quick call to customer service department confirmed that my credit is under review and I cannot use it at this moment. Great. I’m religious about making my payments in time, it’s not past due and they put it on hold. Customer service person kept referring to “them” and wasn’t able to do anything valuable. There is no word on when the credit hold will be off and the customer service person was quite rude. I’m just glad my life doesn’t depend on this card right now, what if I was in Baja trying to buy gas?
By the way 1% cashback on every purchase is another marketing gimmick. I did receive some cash back, $23 from $15 000 I spent last month. 1% my ass. When I asked about it, the customer service put me on hold to transfer me to another customer service, and I simply hung up after 20 minutes of waiting. I expected way more from famous AMEX.

You wouldn’t have been better off with a Visa or MasterCard. Check out this article:
