The second I laid my eyes on this bike I was in love.

I’ve been thinking about similar concept before, dreaming about buying some street legal MX bike, outfitting it with 250 GP bodywork and stuffing CR500 motor in it. Sounds like fun? It looks like I was beat again, this time by Roland Sands. According to his first ride impressions, the bike handles like a dream and is generally fun to ride.

Immediately I got excited and started looking for parts so I can build one myself, I needed a project for looong Southern California winter :). After further investigation I realised that for someone who is NOT planning to race in Supersingles AKA 450GP spec class this bike would be a little underpowered and generally not usable. Heck, I can get track prepped R6 for half the price it will cost me to build 450. Plus who wants to start a project knowing that this will not be the first one built? I left the idea of the build up for better times.

Better time came today. I was riding home from work, it usually gives me a lot of time to think since it’s boring 100 mile freeway commute. The idea was never this clear, I can’t believe it wasn’t done before. Build GP Repliracer based on this.

You want sexy Italian styling? It doesn’t get any better. How about 70hp 550cc V-Twin? Will it move less than 300lbs bike with ease? Gentlemen, this is a recipe for fun. Just look at this pure sex in cast and billet aluminum with magnesium bits:

This bike already comes with great brakes, good suspension and enough power. The only thing left for me to do is to wrap it in some pretty Aprilia Cube inspired bodywork, squeeze into my old racing leathers and I’m ready to go. Can you imagine something like this passing you on the way to Rockstore?

There is only one formality left. I need to raise some funds for this one of a kind project. And this is where you, my dear reader, come in. You can PayPal your support $$ to motodisiac@gmail.com . In return, your name or perhaps the picture of you or your girlfriend will appear on bike’s bodywork when it’s all done (I know, one of F1 teams have already used my idea, bastards) Expect to see it at Miller Motorsports park June 1st. I also accept beer donations, this will greatly speed up the project.

Should I call it Motodisiac 5.5 or SuperTwin?

One Response to “And You Thought Supersingles Were Cool?”

  1. That would be awesome. If you need an additional set of hands, let me know. I think I’ve decided to stay away from my own projects until I can afford a Radical SR3, or get a good lead on an affordable Nobel. In the mean time I would mind living vicariously through someone elses projects. Who know, I may ask for your assistance when I finally pull the trigger on a race car for myself.
