Drunk drivers

We all know how dangerous drinking and driving is. Every day hundreds of people are killed or injured by drunk drivers, however nobody is really out there to catch them. I regularly see motorized cops, usually on bikes, hiding behind the corners like scavengers to get speeding soccer moms and people who make inappropriate moves on the road. Are they really that dangerous to society? I understand that the cities have to get revenue from citing drivers. However it would make a lot more sense and money to catch drunk drivers. Have a couple of officers nearly every drinking establishment. One can honestly predict that 99% of people walking out of bars are intoxicated, even though they simply walk out, get in their vehicles and drive. How hard would it be to hand these officers portable breathalysers to they can quickly check the drivers that are suspected in being drunk? It takes a second to blow into a tube and get a result. If people know that they are at REAL risk of being caught they will look for alternative transportation methods. Taxi companies will get more business and pay more taxes, public transportation will get huge boost of new customers, and the most important, our roads will be a lot safer. I’ll bet anything that this year drunk drivers killed more people that Iraqi insurgents. Still want to have that drink?

And I think that let the suckers drive, have a separate car lane for people who are drunk and let them bump into each other till they run out of gas.
